Format & Rules
One course each month. One official round. A season-long race built around competition, fellowship, and showing up.
How the Society Works
Each month, NGS selects one official course and assigns rotating matchup groups. Members have the designated event window to complete an 18-hole round at that course with at least one member from their assigned group. The lowest net score wins the monthly event, while the lowest gross score is recognized separately.
One Monthly Course
NGS designates the official course for the month. Every member competes on the same course during the event window.
Monthly Matchups
Members are assigned a rotating matchup group each month. An official round must be played with at least one person from that month's assigned group. The full group does not have to play together.
One Declared Round
Each member gets one official attempt. Once a round is declared as the NGS event round, that is the score that counts.
Monthly Matchup Groups
Matchup groups rotate throughout the season to encourage members to play with different people across the Society. Matchups will be communicated at the beginning of each month. Members coordinate their own tee times and do not need to get the entire assigned group together; playing the official course with at least one member from the assigned group satisfies the matchup requirement.
Scoring
Monthly event standings are determined by net score: gross score minus the member's playing handicap. The lowest net score is the Event Winner. The player with the lowest unadjusted score earns Low Gross recognition.
Event Winner
The lowest handicap-adjusted score wins the monthly event and receives first-place points.
Low Gross
The lowest actual score is recognized on the Results page, independent of the net winner.
Season Race
Every completed event can earn points toward the NGS season championship.
Season Points
Winning should matter, but consistency should matter too. Every member who completes an eligible monthly event earns at least one point.

Season Champion
At the end of the season, the member with the most total points is crowned Nashville Golf Society Champion. If two members finish tied in points, the tiebreakers are applied in this order: event wins, lowest average net score, then lowest single net round.
